Our speaker today was Rosemary Muntus who gave us a brief history of Sashiko and Boro stitching

and how it was used to decorate and reinforce clothing worn by field workers in Japan. 

Today most of us have used these slow, slow, stitching methods mainly for decoration

or to keep our favourite item of clothing going just that little be longer.
