Modern Sampler Workshop - requirements

Following the visit of Helen Howes in March 2019, Jill Shaw and myself will be holding a series of workshops to make a Modern Sampler Quilt 24” square, or more, the choice is yours! Maybe alter and arrange the blocks to make up the quilt.

Over the months we will look at how you make and alter the four blocks that make up the quilt, together with binding techniques. Don’t worry if you are going to miss a meeting you will easily catch up.

You might  like to work in a small group and produce a quilt for Linus if you don’t want another quilt for yourself. Or just bring two contrasting fat quarters and have a go at making each block, for future reference.

Requirements
Sewing machine plus basic sewing kit
Cutting mat, ruler, rotary cutter
3/4m of a plain background plus matching thread
Scraps of plain or small motif fabric (this shouldn’t consist of more than 5 different colours).
Notebook, pencil
